A modern refresh for the Recording Industry Association of America website—simplifying content, enhancing usability, and bringing music to the forefront.

Challenge

The RIAA team requested a visual refresh that would feel modern and engaging without straying too far from their existing brand colors.

Goal

To move away from information-heavy layouts—often skipped by users—and create a more visually driven experience, particularly using imagery connected to music.

Solution

  • Redefined typographic system using lighter, more contemporary fonts, while imagery was carefully selected to resonate more clearly with music and sound

  • Gradients, textures, and lighting effects were introduced to bring a sense of modernity, all while ensuring strong contrast and accessibility

  • Subtle UX enhancements helped improve content hierarchy, reduce cognitive load, and make the site easier to navigate and digest
